High Precision Prism Assemblies
REO's high precision prism assemblies utilize novel adhesive free Activated Covalent Bonding (ACB) to enable the construction of compact beam multiplexing systems. REO prism assemblies are distinguished by their low transmitted wavefront distortion values (as low as λ/10 at 633 nm), beam deviation tolerances in the arc second range, and even the capability for precise control of output beam phase relationships. Evaporative coatings are produced in a high vacuum chamber. Both metals and dielectric coating materials can be utilized with this technique. The coating material is heated either resistively or through electron beam bombardment until it vaporizes. The vapor then streams away from the source and recondenses on all surfaces that are in a line of sight with the source.
